Robert McAllister (together with William Chamley) was one of the two miners
who were killed at Seddonville. The cause of his death was similarly given as:
"suffocation caused by a fall of coal in the Glasgow Mine due to earthquake"
He had been born in Ireland c1913 and had lived in New Zealand for 16 years.
He left a widow, Eliza McAllister, and he was buried in the Mokihinui Cemetery
next to his wife. The inscriptions on their grave stones state:
"My husband ROBERT McALLISTER
killed at Seddonville
17 June 1929 aged 45 years;
Eliza wife of Robert McAllister,
died 8th May 1970"
